I went into the St. Vincents 5:40 am on the 13th. I was diagnosed with Preeclampsia, a fatal complication in pregnancies if it progresses to Eclampsia. Lucky for me I was diagnosed in time, and was induced. My blood pressure was 150/90, normally 120/70. I had gained 50 pounds of water in a month, my body was swollen to a painful degree. If my labor wasn't induced I wouldve started having seizures, and Sophie's health wouldv'e been in trouble.
My labor lasted for 22 hours after nearly a day of pushing my body into starting the process. After a hour and a half of pushing my lovely daughter was born. She was healthy as could be. It was the most beautiful moment of my life.
Shortly after she was born I started to hemorage. I lost a little over a third of my blood, and needed two blood transfusions. I was shaking heavily, my lips were grey, and starving after not eating for three days.
We were at the hospital for nearly a week. It was a wonderful feeling to be able to come home, feeling moderatly well.
Sophie is three weeks old now. It doesnt't feel like I'm a mother yet. I love my little girl, and she is pure joy. She sleeps well through the night, doesn't fuss or cry much at all. She is very healthy aside from a little newborn jaundice. I couldn't have gotten more lucky, and am extremely thankful to have her here and in such good health. Even with all the complications I had during the end of the process I would gladly do it again. It's such a thrill to watch and see how she grows even a little bit every day.
In the past few weeks I've regained much of my strength back, even though I still have a low blood count. I have also lost 50 pounds, mostly water weight. Slowly I am getting my health back, and am enjoying the time I have with my beautiful little girl.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
